Chris Vaughn is a musician who writes and produces his own music. He was born on October 12, 1966. He is the oldest of two children and grew up in rural Winston County, Alabama. His love for music began at a very young age; his Dad and both grandfathers being musicians. Early on in life, Chris grew up around bluegrass and gospel music. Chris graduated from high school in 1985. After graduation, he held "regular" jobs and also managed to stay involved with country music by playing venues in North Alabama, primarily in the Jasper, Birmingham, and Huntsville areas. Because of his unique voice and extraordinary talent, Chris Vaughn is not forgotten by anyone hearing him sing.

He truly believes that next to God, your family comes first. The love and support from his wife, Melissa and son Daniel, along with step-children Bridgette, Lindsay, and Jeremy, has encouraged his music and has also inspired his song writing.

Landon Taylor, a long-time friend, was instrumental in getting Chris an audition as bass player for Clay Walker. Landon, lead guitar for Clay, is quite familiar with Chris’ abilities as a bass player and a vocalist. For three years he played bass guitar and sang back-up for Clay and on many occasions actually opened Clay’s show, singing a couple of songs. For this country boy, touring and traveling across the United States and Canada, was a dream come true.

Later, Chris played bass and sang back-up for Wade Hayes for a couple of years. Wanting to spend more time with his family, he got off the road.

Chris has played most every major venue in the U.S. and Canada. While playing with Clay Walker, he appeared on Countdown at the Neon Armadillo, the Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Crook and Chase, Music City Tonight, and Nashville Now. He also appeared in Clay Walker's Video "If I Could Make a Living out of Loving You".

In the fall of 2003, Chris and his wonderfully supportive wife, Melissa, managed a plan for him to devote his time to completing the album he so desperately wanted to record. Because of the sacrifices they were willing to make, the album was completed in 2004. All of the songs (except In Memory of a Memory by Johnny Chris VaughnPaycheck) are original and are performed on the CD by Chris, along with his sister Charlie, singing harmony. These songs are "real country," the way country songs are supposed to sound.

During his music career, Chris has been very fortunate, having played with some of the industry's very best. Dave Brannon began playing with Chris during their teenage years in the first band. Ironically, he is still playing lead guitar for him and also does some vocal work. Denton Walker, fantastic steel player, and Michael Keeton, one of the greatest drummers around, are two of the very best. Michael is the drummer and back-up singer in the band, Real Country, Chris' band today. The legendary Tommy Oliver has played with many great performers, and Chris feels privileged that Tommy now plays steel for Real Country
